Fort Gross-Friedrichsburg, Princes Town
A rare German-built fort on a headland above a quiet bay.
About Fort Gross-Friedrichsburg, Princes Town
Fort Gross-Friedrichsburg at Princes Town was built in the 1680s by traders from Brandenburg, in present-day Germany, one of the few traces of German colonial ambitions in West Africa. The headland and the empty beach below make this a peaceful detour.
